Sense Automate: Configurable Performance workflow now available in Workflow Hub

Released: 14th May 2027 · A new configurable Performance workflow is now available in Workflow Hub, giving teams more flexibility over review steps, participants, questions and notifications.

Released: 14th May 2026

Product: Sense Automate

Who it affects: Administrators and HR teams

Overview

A new configurable Performance workflow is now available in Workflow Hub.

This workflow replaces the previous performance review workflow variations with one flexible option that can be tailored to suit your organisation’s review process.

By default, the workflow uses a simple two-step review process. It can also be configured with up to six sequential steps involving Employees, Managers and Admins.

Mid-year review workflow options will follow in a future release.

What’s new

One configurable Performance workflow

The new Performance workflow gives organisations one flexible workflow instead of multiple separate performance review variations.

It can be installed from Workflow Hub and configured to match your review process, including review steps, participants, screen variants, questions, emails, task titles and due dates.

What this means for you:

It is easier to manage performance review setup from one workflow, rather than choosing between multiple fixed variations.

Flexible review steps and participants

The workflow is defaulted to a 2-step Employee → Manager review process, but administrators can configure up to 6 steps.

Each step is completed in sequence, so the next stage only begins once the previous stage has been completed.

What this means for you:

You can support a simple review process or a more detailed multi-stage process involving Employees, Managers and Admins.

Customisable questions and communications

Administrators can customise the review questions, screen variants, email subjects, email messages, task titles and due dates used by the workflow.

The configuration screen contains help text to explain each setting and how it affects the review process.
