Released: 7th May 2026 · Improvements to working hours, planner setup, event visibility, people search and reporting.

Released: 7th May 2026

Product: Sense HR

Who it affects: Administrators, Managers and Employees

Overview

Sense HR v5.0 introduces major improvements to working hours, planner setup, event visibility, people search and reporting.

This release makes it easier to plan working hours changes in advance, keep entitlement calculations accurate, and reduce manual admin when managing employee schedules and planner settings.

What’s new

Plan working hours changes in advance

Administrators can now schedule working hours changes ahead of time.

When a future-dated working hours change is added, Sense HR automatically applies it on the correct effective date. This removes the need to make manual updates on the day a change takes effect.

Current and future working hours are shown in a single timeline view, making it easier to see what applies today and what is planned next.

Before saving a change, users can review the impact and make updates if needed. Any future bookings affected by the change are flagged for review before the update is finalised.

Entitlement is also recalculated from the updated working hours, helping to keep leave balances accurate.

What this means for you:

Less manual admin, fewer entitlement issues, and more confidence when planning working hours changes in advance.

Faster, guided planner setup

The planner setup experience has been improved to make onboarding and employee setup faster and more reliable.

Planner settings are now pre-filled using global settings and the employee’s start date. Entitlement is automatically calculated for the current and upcoming periods, and users can see how the calculation has been worked out.

Changes to working hours or key planner settings are reflected in real time, helping administrators check setup accuracy before saving.

Employee status and next shift visibility have also been improved, giving employees and managers a clearer view of availability.

What this means for you:

Planner setup is quicker, clearer, and easier to get right from day one.

Clearer event booking status across planner, company calendar and dashboard

Event visibility has been improved across the planner, company calendar and dashboard.

Events awaiting approval are now highlighted more clearly using consistent visuals aligned with the Company Calendar. This also applies to dashboard widgets, making it easier to identify pending approvals at a glance.

What this means for you:

Managers and administrators can understand event status more quickly, without opening multiple screens.

Easier people search

People search now supports “Known As” names, alongside existing search fields such as name, email, department and location.

This makes it easier to find employees by the names they commonly use, rather than relying only on formal names.

What this means for you:

Users can find the right person faster, especially where employees use preferred or shortened names day to day.

Simpler reporting experience

The reporting experience has been improved to make reports faster, smoother and easier to manage.

Reports now feel more responsive, and the workflow for editing, saving and publishing changes has been streamlined. Updating filters, fields and report data is more intuitive, with clearer feedback throughout the process.

The Analyse with AMI experience has also been improved for smoother use when working with report data.

What this means for you:

This release also includes the following support fixes:

  • Document read status consistency — Company documents are now marked as “Read” when downloaded, aligning the behaviour with the employee profile record.

  • Improved To Dos report reliability — Reports including the Assignee field now load more reliably, with improved performance and fewer timeout issues.

Summary

Sense HR v5.0 is a major step forward for planner accuracy, working hours management and day-to-day usability.

With future-dated working hours, clearer entitlement calculations, improved planner setup, better event visibility, enhanced people search and smoother reporting, this release helps teams spend less time managing system updates and more time focusing on their people.
