Overview

The Activity feed gives administrators a chronological view of changes to user and HR records across Sense HR, making it easier to see what changed, who made the change, and when.

It includes supported changes to employee profiles, Planner records, documents, attendance, working hours and other user-related data.

There are two ways to use the Activity feed:

  • Dashboard widget — shows a quick summary of recent activity, with simple date filters and a manual refresh option.

  • Full Activity feed — provides the complete Activity log with additional filters, search, and more information about individual changes.

You can also open the full Activity feed using the Activity feed icon beside your username/avatar in the upper-right corner of Sense HR.

🖊️ Note: Activity feed reflects the types of changes captured in User Activity reporting.

Review recent activity from the Dashboard

The Activity feed widget on the Dashboard gives you a quick view of recent changes without opening the full Activity feed.

Each entry shows a summary of the recorded activity, including:

  • who performed the action.

  • what was added, updated, deleted, or otherwise changed.

  • the employee or record affected, where applicable.

  • the date of the activity.

Change the period shown

The Dashboard widget shows activity from the Last 7 days by default.

Select the date range at the top of the widget and select:

  • Today

  • Yesterday

  • Last 7 days

The widget updates to show activity from the selected period.

If there is no activity for that period, the widget displays No activity for this period.

Refresh the Activity feed

Click Refresh to retrieve the latest activity for the period you are currently viewing.

This lets you check for new changes without refreshing the entire Dashboard.

Open the full Activity feed

Click View all activity at the bottom of the Dashboard widget to open the full Activity feed.

You can also click the Activity feed icon beside your username/avatar in the upper-right corner of Sense HR.

The icon remains available as you navigate around Sense HR, giving administrators quick access to the Activity feed without returning to the Dashboard.

If no activity matches your selections, the page displays No activity found for the selected filters.

Review an activity entry

Activity log entries summarise the recorded change. Where additional information is available, click View details to inspect it.

Depending on the activity, an entry can also include contextual Notes.

🖊️ Note: The information available depends on the type of activity recorded. Not every Activity feed entry has additional details.

Planner approvals and the Activity feed

The Activity feed can show changes made to Planner records, but it does not currently show who approved a Planner request through a To Do or when they approved it.

For example, you may see the resulting change to a Planner event in the Activity feed without seeing the approval action that led to that change.

To audit a completed Planner approval, create a To do report and include:

  • Category

  • Status (To do)

  • Actioned by (To do)

  • Actioned on (To do)

Category and Status help you filter the report to the process you are investigating, while Actioned by and Actioned on show who completed the To Do and when.
