Overview
The traditional Org Chart has evolved into Organisation Explorer.
Organisation Explorer gives users more flexible ways to understand workforce structure, organisational relationships and where people sit across different parts of the business.
Users can explore the organisation from several perspectives, switch between different visual layouts, search for people, customise employee cards, and export or print organisation views.
What’s new
Explore the organisation from different perspectives
Organisation Explorer can organise people by:
Hierarchy
Job title
Department
Location
Subcompany
Each organisation view can be displayed using Classic, Wheel or Radial layout.
What this means for you:
You can look at the same workforce from different organisational perspectives rather than being limited to a traditional reporting hierarchy.
Search and navigate large organisations
Organisation Explorer includes tools to make larger structures easier to navigate.
Users can search for people, expand or collapse structures, zoom in and out, pan around the view, and use a minimap to see which part of the organisation they are currently viewing.
What this means for you:
Large organisational structures are easier to explore, helping users reach the person, team or area they need more quickly.
See where a person fits
Organisation Explorer can be opened from an employee profile and centred around that person.
Users can choose to focus on the employee’s:
Hierarchy
Job title
Department
Location
Subcompany
For example, selecting Department from an employee profile opens Organisation Explorer focused on that person’s department and highlights them within the structure.
Employee cards can also show information such as job title, location, department, subcompany and today’s working status.
What this means for you:
Managers and HR teams can move quickly from an individual employee record to the wider organisational context around that person.
Customise employee cards
In Classic layout, users can choose which employee information appears on Organisation Explorer cards.
Available information includes:
Job title
Location
Department
Subcompany
Status
Profile picture
Name and profile picture remain visible by default.
What this means for you:
You can tailor Organisation Explorer to show the employee information that is most useful for the question you are investigating.
Export and print organisation views
Organisation Explorer views can now be exported or printed.
For PNG exports, users can choose between:
Entire chart — exports the complete organisation structure.
Visible area — exports only the area currently shown on screen.
What this means for you:
Organisation views can be taken into meetings, presentations or discussions, or shared with colleagues when needed.
Bug fix
Excel report exports
We’ve fixed an issue where reports containing certain free-text content, including text pasted from applications such as Word or Outlook, could fail when exported to Excel.
CSV exports were unaffected.
What this means for you:
Reports containing this type of free-text content should now export to Excel more reliably.
