Before you begin
RSS feeds are designed to be used by your organisation’s IT team or web provider
You do not need to configure anything within Sense ATS beyond copying the feed link
How the feed is displayed (for example, on a careers website) is managed outside of Sense ATS
Overview
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds in Sense ATS provide a simple, automated way to publish and distribute your vacancy data beyond the platform.
In Sense ATS, RSS feeds allow you to:
Share your vacancies automatically with external systems
Display jobs on your company website without manual updates
Separate vacancies for different audiences (for example, internal vs external roles)
Instead of manually updating job listings, the RSS feed updates automatically whenever vacancies are added, updated, or closed.
What RSS feeds do in Sense ATS
Sense ATS generates a live feed of your open vacancies that can be used outside the system.
This is typically used to:
Display vacancies on your careers website
Integrate with other recruitment platforms
Power internal job boards
🖊️ Note: Setting up how the feed is used or displayed requires technical implementation and is managed by your IT team.
Types of RSS feeds in ATS
Sense ATS provides two types of RSS feeds:
External RSS feed
Includes all public-facing vacancies.
These are roles intended for external candidates and are typically:
Published on your careers site
Shared publicly
Internal RSS feed
Includes only vacancies where the Internal vacancy option is selected when creating or editing the vacancy.
These are used for:
Internal hiring campaigns
Internal mobility opportunities
Roles not visible to external candidates
Where to find RSS feeds
To access your RSS feed links:
Go to ATS
Select Settings
Open RSS feeds
You will see two read-only fields containing your RSS feed links:
External RSS feed link
Internal RSS feed link
Each field includes a Copy button to quickly copy the URL.
How to use RSS feed links
Once copied, the RSS feed link can be provided to your IT team or web provider.
They can use the link to:
Pull live vacancy data into your website
Display job listings automatically
Keep listings in sync with Sense ATS
Each vacancy in the feed includes key information such as:
Vacancy title
Description
Link to the vacancy
Publish date
How vacancies are included in feeds
Vacancies appear in feeds based on how they are configured:
External RSS feed
Includes all standard (external) vacancies
Internal RSS feed
Includes only vacancies where Internal vacancy is selected
This allows you to control which roles are visible to different audiences.
Related vacancy views in Sense ATS
Sense ATS also provides built-in vacancy boards:
External vacancy board
Internal vacancy board
These display vacancies in a browser-based view and reflect the same separation used in RSS feeds.
When to use RSS feeds
RSS feeds are useful when you want to:
Maintain a live careers page without manual updates
Separate internal and external job listings
Share vacancy data with other systems
Basic Troubleshooting: vacancies not appearing in the feed
If a vacancy is not appearing in the RSS feed, check the following:
Vacancy status → Open
Ensure the vacancy is Open and is not:
• Pending approval
• Rejected
• Closed or Unpublished
Internal vs external setting
Confirm the correct option is selected:
• Internal RSS feed → Internal vacancy must be selected
• External RSS feed → vacancy must be external
Publishing status
If End publishing has been used, the vacancy will no longer appear in the feed
Recent changes
If the vacancy was just created or updated, allow a short time for the feed to refresh
Correct feed link
Make sure you are using the correct RSS feed (internal or external)
🖊️ Note: If the vacancy is correctly configured in Sense ATS but still not visible on your website, this may be due to how the feed is implemented externally. In this case, contact your IT team or web provider.
Summary
RSS feeds in Sense ATS provide a simple way to distribute vacancy data automatically.
By using internal and external feeds, you can:
Control who sees which roles
Keep job listings up to date
Reduce manual effort in managing vacancy content
