Enable the sickness widget so employees can notify their manager of sickness directly from the dashboard.

Overview

When enabled, the Dashboard sickness widget allows everyone in the company to quickly notify their manager of sickness from the dashboard. This article shows administrators how to switch it on and set an effective date.

Dashboard > Settings > Calendar & Planner > General


Quick steps to turn on dashboard sickness widget

  1. From the dashboard, open Settings from the left-hand navigation menu.

  2. Select Calendar & Planner.

  3. From the left-hand menu, click General.

  4. Scroll down to Dashboard sickness widget and click the toggle to switch it on.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Select an Effective date and (optional) enter a Reason for change.

  7. Click Save

✅ The dashboard sickness widget is now active and will appear on all employees’ dashboards, ready to use for sickness notifications.


FAQ

Q: Why can’t I see the dashboard sickness widget on my dashboard?

A: The Dashboard sickness widget only appears after the effective date you selected has been reached.

If you need to change the effective date, turn the widget off and back on again, then follow the prompts to set and confirm a new effective date.


Q: Who can switch on or off the dashboard sickness widget?

A: Only administrators can enable or disable the dashboard sickness widget. Managers and employees do not have this permission.


Q: How do I turn off the dashboard sickness widget once it’s on?

A: Open Settings > Calendar & Planner > General, scroll to Dashboard sickness widget, toggle it Off, and click Next and then Save.


Q: Can employees add sickness to the Planner without notifying a manager?

A: Yes. On Professional, Elite, and Enterprise plans, administrators can allow employees to add their own sickness events to the Planner without triggering a manager notification.

To enable this setting:

  1. Go to Settings > Access roles.

  2. Select the relevant user role.

  3. Open Permissions > Features.

  4. In the Own planner section, toggle on Add own sickness.

  5. Click Done, then Save to confirm.
